About Venus Flytrap Seeds
Dionaea muscipula
Venus Flytrap Seeds grow into Dionaea muscipula, the well-known carnivorous plant with hinged traps. This is a specialty seed for patient growers who can provide bright light, mineral-free water, and nutrient-poor growing media.
Use a peat-based carnivorous plant mix or long-fiber sphagnum with perlite. Avoid standard potting soil, compost, and fertilizer. Keep the medium moist with distilled water, rainwater, or reverse-osmosis water.
Planting Notes
- Light: very bright light to full sun, or strong grow lights indoors
- Water: distilled, rain, or reverse-osmosis water only
- Soil: nutrient-poor carnivorous plant mix
- Care note: do not fertilize or use regular potting soil
